Thailand, famous for its Buddhas and beaches, casts a magical spell upon many who visit. It did for me and I have visited this part of the world more than any other and lost count of the times I have returned.

This tour takes in my favourite places, hotels, beaches and activities. I hope you will join me in this sumptuous treat, to stave off those early, dark winter nights.

Days 1-3 Luxury Samui

(3 nights)

The first hotel I ever stayed at in Thailand was the 5 * Amari Palm Reef and I have returned ever since.

It has a serenity and beauty that always immediately soothes me and is the perfect way to recover from a long flight. Very often I rarely stray from the gardens, pools, gym, spa and private beach to venture into the bustling town centre. Situated on Chaweng beach, this hotel oozes calm and sophistication. The breakfast buffet boasts dishes from all four corners of the world, the service is graceful and the gardens are immaculate.

There is chance here to unwind, explore the island, dip into local gay nightlife or simply relax by the pool.

Days 4-9 Jungle Chic

(6 nights)

We now venture to the smaller island of Koh Tao – infamous for its diving sites and laid back beach life.

A modern ferry takes us to this understated gem of an island. We stay on the lovely beach Sairee that transforms in the evening to a waterside candlelit dining experience.

Koh Tao Cabana Resort sits at the quiet end of the beach and has villas nestled in the rocks and hillside. Its a little piece of jungle chic.

There is a Yoga centre along the beach, snorkelling and scuba options, boat trips and beach life to enjoy.

This is the place for midday snoozes, novel reading, underwater adventures, massage pampering, great conversations and delicious authentic cuisine. If swinging in a hammock or floating on a lilo is your thing – you’ve come to the right place.

Days 10-13 Bustling Bangkok    (4 nights)

“For anyone considering going on a a Great Gay Getaway I would say be prepared to meet an astonishing group of guys, to discover capacities in yourself you never knew you had and, overall, to have the experience of a lifetime.”

Peter, Bali 2018

Time to switch gears as we fly over to Bangkok – Asia’s New York.

Its busy, built up and brimming with sights, sounds and smells.

Amongst the mayhem lies a little gay sanctuary that has become, over the years, world renowned as ‘the worlds best gay hotel’ Bangkok Babylon sits in the diplomatic quarter of the city so is deceptively tranquil with lush gardens boasting a pool, bar, gym, restaurant, cafe, sauna, and spa.

Lying by the pool it is easy to forget that it is located in central Bangkok and only a short cab or moped hop away from the gay life centred around the Silom district.

Here you can choose to explore he glorious sights of the city such as the incredible Grand Palace, Chinatown, Chatuchat Market, Rivers and waterways. There is bustling nightlife for those night owls. [ Note: the sauna area of the hotel is ‘sex positive’ for those who feel adventurous or inclined.] Or you can choose to simply continue relaxing by the pool, enjoying meals in the excellent hotel restaurant and meeting gay guests from around the world.

This is a relaxed holiday for those who enjoy quality accommodation, laid back days, cultural opportunities and the camaraderie of a group of gay men to hang out with.

There will be frequent group gatherings and various options to explore activities and sights in smaller clusters.

“What I appreciate most about this trip was the integrity and support of the other guys.”

Javed, Bali 2018
